- Aquarium project - Chemistry Thursdays - Decimals to the thousandths place Looking back: Language Arts: This week we continued to work on articles based on the topics of our choice. Each students should be complete their research phase and moving into their planning and introductory paragraphs. Math: - This week we continued to work with decimals and added on a place value. We also began talking about ordering decimals and putting them on a number line. At the end of the week the students were assigned a math project, with a partner or on their own students will design an aquarium for the class. Each group will be working with a hypothetical budget of $240 and will have to keep track of the money they spent, including sales tax. They must not go over budget and must be thoughtful about the type of aquarium and fish they will be putting into it. Science: -Students this week have been working on part 2 of their "To Boldly Go" project where they create a ship log of all of the astronomical anomalies they pass on their way to their new planet. Social: Students are working in small groups to research a culture that makes up the wonderful diversity of Canada. Once students have finished researching they will find a way to artistically share their understanding with all of their 5/6 peers. Finally, Parent math night is this Tuesday from 6-7:30pm.
